Mathematics and Statistics.

The courses offered in Mathematics and Statistics at St Andrews are very popular and frequently feature in league tables as amongst the best in the UK. The Department has world class researchers in the three main areas of mathematical science: Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Statistics and undergraduate students have the opportunity to pursue specialist options in a diverse and imaginative modular structure. The degree programmes we offer are:

MMath Degrees
-Mathematics (G100)
-Applied Mathematics (G120)
-Pure Mathematics (G110)
-Statistics (G300)


These are enhanced undergraduate programmes with "advanced" study in one (or more) of our specialist areas. For the mathematically well qualified this is a four year programme.
BSc/MA
-Mathematics
-Statistics


The BSc and MA degrees are a broad-based programme with opportunity to study a wide range of topics within Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and/or Statistics.
Also
there are opportunities to combine either Mathematics or Statistics with another subject ( in Arts or Science ) in a joint degree
